What is a water resistant case?
The more multi-use your equipment is, the more you are tempted to ask for “waterproof” plastic boxes or cases. Therefore, the more important it is to understand the word “waterproof”. The risks to your electronic devices are not always well understood. Everyday dust or just a few drops of rain is enough to disrupt the operation of your equipment or not. Fortunately, today we can find solutions to protect your devices, through their design and also by adding internal elements to make them more resistant to splashes. Thanks to adapted construction, reinforced solders and additional seals, water splashes and dust will no longer endanger your electronics.
However, a splash-proof device does not mean resistant to all types of projections (jets, pressure or immersion …), unless there is additional protection of water resistance of a certified level IP65 and above (even in this case, damage caused by liquids may not be covered by warranties). A few drops of water are not likely to damage your splash-proof product, but leaving it in pouring rain could be risky. 
It is therefore advisable to be precise about the destination and usual use of your product. Firstly because it would be a shame to simply start from the principle “who can do more, can do less” and quickly rule out viable and economical solutions or add unnecessary costs to the manufacture of your boxes.
